What is different about Education Standards Australia?
ESA is about ‘standards’ and ‘choice’. The Australian Curriculum, developed by ACARA, is being progressively implemented across Australia. Our aim is for schools to meet and exceed expected standards through choice. All states provide support to implement the Australian Curriculum. For many schools, the quality pre-packaged curriculum support provided by their state or territory government will adequately meet their needs. However, some schools seek a competitive edge, or support that better reflects the specific needs of their school or community. Education Standards Australia provides an option for those schools that choose to be different. Whether it is because they have ambitions to raise educational standards across the school, or in particular identified area of need, or that have ambitions to stand out from the rest, to exercise their choice to trust in their own ability to find ways to meet their performance aspirations. Education Standards Director, Paul Herschell, has worked extensively with ACARA. This experience informs and underpins the support services provided by Education Standards Australia. Paul’s detailed understanding of the Australian curriculum means that schools can be confident that our collaboration will lift educational standards and improve student performance.
